Authors and industry may submit material for consideration of publication in two different sections of WAENT:  Skip this information and go to Upload File Page.

• Online Pier Review Journal.  This section accepts manuscripts, video and Flash presentations in a variety of formats.  (See information for authors).
  
  WAENT will review and edit the submission.  In the case of videos, WAENT may also edit them and where appropriate, add narration.
  
  The submitted content is given a permanent index and uploaded onto WAENT website.  A copyright transfer is requested for all material submitted to the Journal.
  
  Patient permission must also be obtained from all patients for the use of any patient specific patient information, photographs or videos.  Download Copyright Transfer Form

• WAENT Depository.  This section only accepts highly polished and finished videos and Flash presentations.  It is designed for but not limited to patient and physician educational products produced by the medical industry.
  
  WAENT does not review the submission and only makes a determination of appropriate or inappropriate.  Presentations which do not deal with the field of otolaryngology or are infomercials for products, will not be accepted.
  
  Submitted content is not permanently indexed and may be taken down as new or different content becomes available.  A copyright release form is requested for all materials submitted to the Depository.    Download Copyright Release Form 
  

The Submission Page allows authors and industry to submit videos, Flash presentations and articles to the "World Articles in Ear, Nose and Throat" online journal and depository.  Files may have a size of up to 250 megs.

• Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format or text files.
• Videos may be submitted in MPEG2 (mpg), Flash (.flv), Quick Time (.mov) or
  Windows Media Video (.wmv) format.
  -- Videos should be high quality and compressed to 1024+ Kbps.   MPEG2 format provides a quality of 720 by 480 (NTSC) or 720 by 576 (PAL). 
  -- Flash video files cannot be edited by WAENT.  Windows Media Files can be edited and thus they are the most desirable format to be uploaded. 
  -- We are also able to edit some AVI formats. To determine the type of AVI compression, open the AVI video file in Note Pad or a comparable text editor.  The name of the compression codec will be found after the letters "vid(s)".   We are able to edit AVI's using UYVY compression. 
• Pictures may be submitted in Gif or JPEG format.
• Flash Animation (swf).
• PDF files can also be uploaded.

Uploads of large files may take a very long time.  For example a 50 meg video file may take approximately 30 mins to upload using a Cable or DSL  modem.  High speed internet refers to download times not upload.  Some uploading speeds are 1/20 that of the download speed or around 10 to 20 Kbps.   Thus, a 50,000 K file (50 meg) would take between 2500 to 5000 seconds or about 42 to 83 mins.

As long as the file selection page has not changed to a "page not found" or another error message, just be patient because the file is uploading.
